What is Wine Island?
Wine Island is Sydney’s ultimate food and wine festival taking place at Gap Bluff, Watsons Bay from Fri 29 Nov – Sun 1 Dec, 2024. We showcase Australian & Int’l cellar doors, distilleries and breweries, gourmet food, music and immersive activities, with the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour. This is a boutique event with limited capacity per session.
Is Wine Island a licensed event?
Wine Island is a fully licensed event. All patrons must be minimum 18+ years of age to enter.
Can I BYO alcohol into Wine Island?
Wine Island is a fully licensed event. BYO alcohol is not permitted.
Can I BYO food into Wine Island?
BYO food is not permitted.
What can I bring to Wine Island?
The below items are permitted:
- Picnic rugs
- Hats
- Sunglasses
- Umbrella
- Sunscreen
- Empty water bottles
- Good vibes
What can't I bring to Wine Island?
Prohibited Items include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Tables, tents or sun shelters;
- Chairs of any kind;
- Alcohol;
- Illicit substances;
- Water bottles;
- Glass items;
- Metal cutlery and/or knives;
- Weapons of any sort including tasers, mace spray;
- Food
- Esky
- Children (18+ fully licensed event only)
- Selfie and/or go pro sticks;
- Animals (excluding guide dogs);
- Bean bags, blow-up chairs or lounges;
- Lasers, flashlights;
- Fireworks and/or flares;
- Items capable of being used as a projectile;
- Skateboards, roller blades, roller skates, bicycles
- Any other item deemed by Event Personnel (in their sole discretion) to be, or potentially be, dangerous or offensive).
Can I bring the kids to Wine Island?
This is an over 18’s only event. Leave the kids at home and enjoy your mini vacay!
Can I bring my pets to Wine Island?
Only trained assistance animals such as guide dogs will be allowed onto the island.

Can I smoke cigarettes at Wine Island?
No. The Venue is entirely smoke-free for the duration of the Event, which means you cannot burn tobacco or any other substance, by any device, nor inhale vapour from e-cigarettes, anywhere at the Venue.
What happens if there is bad weather?
Wine Island is an outdoor event and will proceed rain, hail or (no) shine.
Like any holiday destination, the location can be affected by the weather conditions so come prepared with wet weather gear, raincoats, ponchos and/or umbrellas and (of course) a good attitude.
If the weather is deemed to be dangerous, we will communicate with all ticket purchasers on next steps.
Is Wine Island accessible?
Yes, this is an accessible event for all (18+ only).

Will there be First Aid available at Wine Island?
Yes. First Aid will be located at the venue.
Are there pass outs available?
There are no pass outs at Wine Island. Once you leave you won’t have access back into the venue.
Festival Currency
What is Festival Currency?
Wine Island is a cashless event. This means that ALL purchases at Wine Island must be paid for using Festival Currency which is just like a credit card on your wrist.
Your ticket to the event will be a Festival Currency RFID wristband. These will be posted out to you pre-event so please ensure you slap these around your wrists before entry to the event so security can welcome you.
If you purchase tickets after 21 November 5pm AEST you will need to bring your ticket and collect your RFID wristband at the entrance gate.
How will it work?
Wine Island will email all ticket purchasers pre-event with instructions on how to upload Festival Currency onto your wristbands before arriving.
If you purchase tickets after 21 November 5pm AEST you will need to bring your ticket and collect your RFID wristband at the entrance gate.
Further top ups of your Festival Currency can be made at the event at our Festival Currency marquee and roaming sellers so if you do not pre-purchase currency before the event, you can still purchase from our Festival Currency crew. All festival currency transactions are subject to a one-off transaction fee of $3.50 and no further surcharges for any purchases will occur.
What do I do if I don't use all the Festival Currency on my wristband?
Simply keep your wristband post event and head to the Wine Island website from Monday 3 Dec at 12noon – Friday 7 Dec 5pm AEST and click on the FESTIVAL CURRENCY REFUND button.
Enter your full name, email address, BSB, Account Number as well as the RFID number printed on the back of the wristband and the 5-6 digit code printed on the side of your wristband and hit complete!
Your refund will be processed back into your bank account within 14 working days.
Transport
How do I get to Wine Island?
Please note public transport is not included in your ticket.
Gap Bluff, Watsons Bay is easily accessible via both buses from the City, Bondi Junction and Edgecliff and ferries from Circular Quay and Manly. Detailed information can be found at transportnsw.info
Gap Bluff is located just a 15-minute drive from Bondi Junction.
However, there is VERY limited parking near the venue so we strongly advise public transport or Taxi/Rideshare to and from the venue.

Is there parking at Wine Island?
There is no allocated parking and we strongly advise all ticketholders to catch public transport or organise rideshare/taxis.
Can I leave Wine Island before my session finishes?
You are welcome to arrive and depart when you please. However there are no pass outs so if you leave during the session, you will not be able to return.
Tickets
Where can I purchase my Wine Island ticket?
Tickets can be purchased at www.wineisland.com.au/tickets
If you need to return to purchase a Masterclass Add On to your event experience, simply head to eventfinda.com.au.
Click My Eventfinda to login or create an account with the email used for purchase. You’ll see ‘My Tickets’. Next to your order for the event, there will be a blue Buy Add-Ons button so that you can purchase the additional items.
Wine Island’s ticketing platform is powered by Eventfinda/TixSuite.
I've bought my ticket. When do I get my wristband?
If you have purchased your ticket prior to Thurs 21 November 5pm AEST your wristband will be posted to the address you nominated, pre-event. Otherwise you will need to bring your ticket with QR code to the event and you will be handed your RFID wristband at the check-in upon receipt of your valid ticket.
Everyone receiving their RFID wristband pre-event will receive an email from us advising of next steps to upload Festival Currency to their wristband pre-event.
Can I request a refund on my Wine Island ticket?
Unless the event is cancelled or postponed by the Promoter, all tickets purchased are non-refundable.
