Petaluma, founded in 1976, crafts ultra-premium wines by carefully selecting the best sites within a particular region suited to a chosen variety. This is our ‘distinguished vineyards’ philosophy. This pioneering attitude towards viticulture and winemaking is as uncompromising and true today as it was almost 40 years ago.
Through trial and building of expertise, Petaluma has evolved into iconic Rieslings from Clare Valley; Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Piccadilly for the making of Croser; Shiraz, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc from the Adelaide Hills; and Cabernet and Merlot from Coonawarra.
Petaluma has developed a prestigious reputation over its history with five star awards and long term rankings by Langton for our hallmark Petaluma Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot Shiraz and Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling from the Clare Valley.
We are a passionate and dedicated team who strive to craft the best wines from our beautiful vineyards. Our pioneering past means that we are always considering new styles and ways of doing things. We are one of few wineries of our size which controls the winemaking process from grape to glass and we craft both red and white wines as well as sparkling wines in Methode Traditional.
Our new winery and cellar door was officially opened in 2015 and was awarded the Most Welcoming Cellar Door in the Adelaide Hills at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show and we made Gourmet Traveller’s Best Cellar Door list in 2016.
